Commercial International Bank Egypt (CIB) has chosen to integrate IBM’s artificial intelligence technology. The move is part of CIB’s digital transformation journey and is aimed at modernizing its IT infrastructure. The technology will be used to integrate services across branches, digital channels, mobile and internet banking, interactive voice response (IVR), business processes and customer relationship management (CRM).
- CIB’s digital banking revolution was led by IBM implementing a microservices framework using its Cloud Pak for Integration, which was deployed on the Red Hat OpenShift platform.
- The new architecture has resulted in significant simplicity in version maintenance, dynamic scaling, service governance and service discovery.
- The result has been a more agile banking environment, which in turn has led to increased efficiency, resilience, streamlined operations, enhanced productivity and an improved end-user experience.
Antar Kandil, Chief Information Officer for CIB, stated the adoption of IBM Cloud Pak for Integration on Red Hat OpenShift provides the ability to accelerate development and flexibly integrate new and existing services. The aim is an enhanced customer experience for CIB clients.
Marwa Abbas, General Manager of IBM Egypt, stated the project marks a significant milestone in the longstanding relationship with CIB. IBM’s strategy is to help CIB apply AI to deliver meaningful business outcomes beyond improved productivity and efficiencies, with a focus on better experiences and creating new business models.
