TLDR: London-listed fintech company Equals Group has extended its deadline for takeover talks with private equity group Madison Dearborn Partners. Equals Group is considering shifting back into private ownership and has requested an extension to the deadline set by the panel on takeovers and mergers. The two firms now have until 21 February 2024 to reach a potential deal. London has seen a number of firms leave its markets in the past year due to depressed valuations, with 40 companies either being taken private or agreeing to a takeover bid.
