In a speech at the Fintech Islands Experience event, Mastercard’s Director of Fintechs Business Development for the Caribbean, Icelsa Diaz, stated that the company has been investing heavily in understanding and creating strategic partnerships in the region. Diaz highlighted Mastercard’s focus on supporting fintechs in promoting financial inclusion and cited partnerships with digital app players and neobanks as examples. Payce Digital, an affiliate partner of the event, has been offering various digital services in Barbados, including mobile payments and contactless technology. The three-day event brought together over 500 fintech experts and enthusiasts to discuss the future of the industry and explore cutting-edge topics.
