Jamaican entrepreneur Richard Powell will be a keynote speaker at the 2024 Fintech Islands Experience (FiX 2024) in Barbados. Powell has over two decades of experience in corporate finance, governance, and business development. He has co-founded and led successful ventures, including Zerochaos and Project Black. Powell is currently working on an innovative vehicle to raise over $2 billion of capital for investment in the US and Caribbean region. His keynote at FiX 2024 will focus on growing fintech unicorns and building the Caribbean into a global hub for inclusive prosperity.
The three-day conference will be attended by over 700 people and will feature discussions on various fintech topics, including artificial intelligence, banking revolution, climate fintech, and open finance. Other keynote speakers include E Jay Saunders, deputy premier and minister of finance for Turks and Caicos Islands, and Rohan Marley, founder of Marley Coffee and Lion Order. The conference will also feature a Startup Pitch competition. The event aims to promote the development of the fintech industry in the Caribbean and create economic opportunities for all.
