The first week of 2024 remained quiet in the fintech space, with only 11 deals reported, raising a total of $447.5m. The top deal was seen in the data space, with VNET Group, a data centre services provider, raising $299m in a strategic investment. Cloud-native security firm Aqua Security raised $60m in its latest funding round, reaching a valuation above $1bn. Bumper, a fintech firm specialising in automotive payments, raised $48m in a Series B funding round. Other notable deals included investments in cybersecurity firm iFlock Security Consulting ($5.5m) and Indonesian fintech firm Komunal ($5.5m).
