Rappi, the Latin American tech firm, has announced that it will discontinue its virtual savings account offering, RappiCuenta, in Mexico as of 11 February. The company sent an email to its RappiCuenta customers in Mexico last month, informing them of the closure and requesting that they withdraw all funds before the specified date. However, Rappi’s credit card service, RappiCard, will continue to operate in the country. RappiCuenta is not being discontinued in any other countries at this time. Rappi, founded in 2015, started as a food delivery app but has since expanded its services to include savings accounts and credit cards. It claims to have over 30 million monthly active users in nine Latin American countries and Spain.
