- 47 blockchain startups raised $283.5 million in 2023
- Blockchain networks and financial services dominate the sector
- Crypto Valley accounts for 4.8% of global blockchain venture deals
- Crypto Valley represents 20.4% of European blockchain deals
- Blockchain businesses in Crypto Valley account for 10% of all venture funding in the region
- Zug, Geneva, and Zurich contribute 81% of venture funding
The report also highlights the role that Crypto Valley plays in advancing decentralized trust-based systems through blockchain technology and infrastructure initiatives. The region is home to 14 unicorns and has recently attracted new businesses and associations such as DAO Swiss, further contributing to its growth. Notable companies in the Crypto Valley include Swissborg, Taurus, and Gentwo, which have recently raised funds to expand their operations.
